Witch´s Rock Surf Safari

Witch’s Rock Surf Safari departs from Playas del Coco every day if we have good weather conditions and a good swell in the area. The boat is a 24 ft 150 hp, and the ride to the Santa Rosa National Park where this spot is located it takes around 45 minutes to get there. The captain is fully bilingual and he’s an expert surfer at Witch’s Rock.

Daily departures from Guanacaste: Boats departs from Playas del Coco, if you are in Tamarindo, Playa Grande or some other location you must be at 6:00 am in Playas del Coco (one hour drive) 

  • Witch’s Rock Surf Safari

    Witch’s Rock Surf Safari is a trip that all pro surfers sure take during their staying in Guanacaste, this is a place located at the Santa Rosa National Park and the beach offer you a sandy bottom with left and right breaks, the best season is through the months of December to March as it has offshore winds, but the place gives you excellent waves along the year.

    This world-class surfing spot gives you the opportunity to ride amazing tubes and fast walls, the best location is in the south of the river which offers bigger waves.

    We also offer the Ollie’s Point; is best surfed at low/mid-tide and has a sandy, reef bottom and for all types of surfers. Ollie’s Point is one of the most northern points on the west coast of Costa Rica with a world-class break.

    Ground transportation is not included, if you are staying by Tamarindo area please let us know if you need this service, if you have your own transportation you should depart from there at 5.00 am as the drive to Playas del Coco takes you one hour.

    If there are extreme winds, oversize waves, and any weather conditions that can put on risk your safety the trip will be moved to the next available day.

  • Bilingual guide, boat transportation, fruits, water, and drinks.

    Entrance Fee to the National Park is not Included Add $15 per person.

    Land transportation not included.

  • What to bring: Sunblock, towel, swimsuit, hat, extra water, sunglasses, and surfboard.
