Santa Rosa National Park Hike Tour, Guanacaste

Santa Rosa National Park Hike
+ Junquillal Wildlife Refuge

The Santa Rosa National Park & Junquillal Wildlife Refuge Tour is an expedition that will allow you to discover Costa Rica’s History, the Tropical Dry Forest, and its wildlife. Additionally, you will explore one of the most beautiful beaches in Guanacaste at the Junquillal Wildlife Refuge. These tours combine some hiking with relaxing time.

Santa Rosa National Park Tour will take you through a review of the colonial history of Costa Rica.  This is the place where Costa Rica was defeated in the first of two battles, its land and freedom from the Filibuster invaders in 1856, commanded by William Walker from New Orleans, who pretended to establish a Central American southern English-speaking colony under his rule.  The remains of the battle are still there as an ancient witness to Costa Rica’s history.

In Santa Rosa National Park, also you can find one of the last remains of pure tropical dry forest in the world. You will admire the many varieties of flora and fauna residents in the area. We can be lucky with the visit of spider and howler monkeys, deer, raccoons, coatimundis, birds, and other animals.

Later Santa Rosa National Park Tour continues driving north to the beautiful and calm Junquillal Wildlife Refuge. Here you can enjoy an excellent beach to walk, the perfect ocean for swimming and relaxation. In Junquillal, you can observe white-faced monkeys, giant iguanas, raccoons, deer, and other animal species. Here we will prepare a delicious beachfront BBQ lunch for you.

Come with us on this journey, discover some of Costa Rica’s history, and relax on a lonely and quiet beach with your family, friends, or your couple. The tour can be joined by everybody as the hikes are very easy, and the rest of the tour is a relaxing day on the beach.
