The Monteverde Hanging Bridges Tour from Guanacaste will take you to discover the fantastic cloud forest and its flora and fauna. Take a hike by the hanging bridges, giving you fantastic views of the Monteverde Cloud Forest. You will also enjoy taking the coffee, sugar cane, and chocolate tour, where you will learn about the process of each product.

The drive starts early morning; we will drive you first but the towns of Liberia and Cañas, and from here, the road will take you to the highlands; the scenic beauty of the place is fantastic, in addition to the landscapes of the farms, lush green mountains, and small towns where you will drive by are authentic portraits of the real Guanacaste. The drive to the area takes approximately 3 hours.

Once you arrive at the adventure complex, you will start with the Monteverde Hanging Bridges. This is the perfect way to introduce the flora and fauna of the forest canopy. It allows a different perspective of the forest, starting with a walk on the ground. The hike will take you up to explore the treetops, a hardly discovered habitat called the “canopy.”

At the adventure park, you will find five hanging bridges in total, the longest of which spans around 984 feet. The trails extend slightly over 1.5 miles (2.5 km), making this tour feasible for anyone in moderate physical shape. The Monteverde Hanging Bridges Tour is ideal for everybody; the climb is not strenuous or muddy, as the trails are well-maintained and generally very flat. 

Later, we continue with the Monteverde Coffee Tour. You will learn about the history of coffee, how cherries are picked, and when they are ready (from November to February); visitors can participate in this activity. Also, you will learn how the pulp of the coffee cherry was traditionally removed, as well as the washing process of the mucilage found underneath the pulp and the separation of the first-class coffee beans.

The coffee beans are stored in big fiber sacks at the Monteverde Coffee Tour warehouse, allowing them to breathe and complete their aging process. The selection of coffee beans, the roasting process, and the final packaging of the coffee are also carried out here. You will also learn about chocolate elaboration and the sugar cane process.
