Guanacaste Outback Adventure
Our first stop will take you through the Rincon de la Vieja Volcano, in a walk for about two hours in the forest where you can observe fumaroles, boiling mud, sulfur lakes and other volcanic activity, then visit the Oropendola waterfall, a beautiful drop clear water where you can swim if you wish. After the volcano experience Guanacaste Outback Adventure head north along the Pan-American Highway heading to Santa Rosa National Park.
Here you will find the historic monument of the battle succeeded in 1856 against the Filibusters and the Casona still preserves some treasures of the time shown in the museum. Also, you will visit some of the trails in one of the last dry tropical forests in the world, here you can see howler and white-faced monkeys, deer, turkeys, coatimundis among others.
After a day of nature and history, we will go also to the city of Liberia, the largest in the province, founded in colonial times where you still can see some old houses and its antique chapel. The city also offers many souvenirs for shopping before returning to your place of rest.
