Guanacaste Beaches

Guanacaste Beaches are simply incredible! Along the Guanacaste coastline, you will find some of the most beautiful beaches in Costa Rica. With a variety of sandy colors for everyone, you can find white-sandy beaches, black volcanic sand, or brown sand beaches in Guanacaste. Think about relaxing in the Pacific Ocean’s warm, crystalline, and calm waters. Indeed, you will enjoy discovering the beauty of our beaches and get ready to relax in some of the most beautiful places you will ever visit!

With more than 700 km of coastline and white sand, Guanacaste hides incredible beaches to visit. The proximity to the Liberia Airport makes all the beaches and resorts easy and quick to access. You will also be able to perform several activities and visit national parks like the famous Rincon de la Vieja Volcano, Santa Rosa, and Palo Verde, to name just a few. As well as discover local culture and gastronomy that you can find in each of the little villages and beach towns. Each Guanacaste beach encloses a singular beauty; discover the white sand beaches or the volcanic black sand beaches; even you can find pink sand in some places.

Some of the most renowned Guanacaste beaches are Playas del Coco, once a little fisherman village, today converted into a vibrating center for tourists and headquarters for those who want to travel around; the same is Ocotal Beach, located only 3km away from Coco. Playa Hermosa has located 10 km from Playas del Coco, right on the Papagayo Gulf; you will find a beautiful beach and many vacation homes here.

Have you heard about Tamarindo Beach? Well, this is the center for surfing in Guanacaste for professionals and beginners. The beach offers fantastic waves, a long beach, and many beachfront restaurants and souvenirs. It is the favorite for young people looking for surf and families looking for the perfect summer.

Flamingo Beach is a beautiful white-sand beach, around 2km of pure paradise. During the low tide, the ocean waters are converted into a natural pool perfect for enjoying and relaxing. There are some beachfront restaurants. Playa Grande is located within Las Baulas National Park so you won’t see many beachfront properties or services here.

This 4 km long beach is visited mainly by professional surfers looking for more giant waves. Playa Conchal is renowned for its white sand made of shell dust product of erosion over the years. This is a beautiful paradise with turquoise and calm waters. There are no services in this area for what you must bring, whatever you need to stay around.

The ocean water is very calm, and there is a lot of nature around. Some other Guanacaste Beaches located more south are Samara, Nosara, Punta Islita, and Avellanas. Below you will find our most important beaches, considering accommodations, the beach, local activities, natural beauty, safety, accessibility, and gastronomic offer.
